Terms of Service

Boxscore offers free daily and unlimited sports puzzle games. It’s provided as a hobby project: games, features, and data may change, be paused, or be removed at any time without notice.

You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, use the site only with a parent or guardian’s permission.

Accounts are optional. If you create one, give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and you’re responsible for activity under it. I may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms. See the Privacy Policy for how account data is handled.

Please don’t:

• submit fabricated or manipulated results to the leaderboard, including by calling the site’s endpoints directly or using scripts, bots, or solvers to post scores;
• scrape, bulk-download, or automatically query the site or its data, or otherwise put unreasonable load on it;
• try to disrupt, probe, or bypass the site’s security or limits;
• use a display name that is offensive, hateful, or that impersonates another person or organization.

I may remove leaderboard entries or names, reset scores, or block access if these rules are broken, at my discretion.

Your display name and results are shown publicly on the leaderboard, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Choose a display name you’re comfortable with. Leaderboard results are for fun: they aren’t verified, and I don’t guarantee their accuracy or permanence.

The site’s design, code, puzzle generation, and original text belong to me. You’re welcome to play and to share your results (for example, with the built-in share button), but please don’t copy or republish the site or its puzzles as your own.

Player, team, league, and club names, logos, and photos are the property of their respective owners and are used here only to identify them in a trivia game. Boxscore is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any league, team, club, federation, or player.

Puzzle data is compiled from public datasets, league data services, and Wikipedia, and some of it is licensed by its sources (for example the Lahman Baseball Database and Wikipedia, both CC BY-SA), as noted in the site footer. It can contain errors or be out of date. Don’t rely on it for betting, fantasy decisions, or anything where accuracy matters.

The site uses third-party services (such as sign-in, hosting, and image hosts) and may link to other sites. I don’t control them and am not responsible for their content or practices.

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your stats, streaks, or leaderboard results will be preserved.

To the fullest extent the law allows, I’m not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, streaks, or profits, arising from your use of the site. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that can’t be waived.

You can stop using the site at any time. I can suspend or end access at any time, including for breaking these terms.

I may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site, are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any such dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you agree to their jurisdiction.
